The Life that Followed

$1,650.00

I thought an ending would leave an empty space.

Instead, life rushed in.

I travelled further. Stood beneath enormous skies. Met new people, new places, and versions of myself I might never have known otherwise.

And somewhere amongst all of that beauty was the strange realisation that some of it may never have happened if my life had gone the way I wanted it to.

There is something bittersweet about that.

To deeply miss what was, while standing in a life that could only exist because it ended.

This painting holds both.

The grief of losing a life I thought I would have, and the beauty of discovering the one that followed.

Not better. Not worse.

Just different.

And still, somehow, so beautiful.
